— Ice universe (@UniverseIce) February 2, 2019 We have heard earlier that the mid-range device will come with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage, and will be available in black, silver, and gold, possibly with gradient variants. More groundbreaking, however, at least for Samsung, is that the company is fielding an all-screen near the bezel-less device with neither a notch (such as on the M20) or punch-hole camera (like on the S10). While a pop-up camera does help to make the display pristine, it does have some potential issues. Some worry about the durability of the motorized drive that pushes the camera up and backs down again. And a phone with a pop-up camera is most likely not going to have an IP rating for protection from dust and water. The aforementioned Vivo NEX S does not sport an IP rating, and neither does the Galaxy A9 (although for different reasons). Samsung may be working on a pop-up camera for the Galaxy A90, but this year is all about the punch-hole. The Galaxy A8s (aka Galaxy A9 Pro for the international market) was the company’s first handset to feature a punch-hole selfie camera, and the trend will continue with the upcoming flagship Samsung Galaxy S10 line.
